The Voiceover community is still abuzz over the emergence of so-called “Artificial Intelligence” and the impact it will have on VO jobs.
In my experience (so far at least) voice actors who don’t mind doing more work for less money will be the hardest hit. I’m not out to bash “low-ballers” and “newbies” here. Rather, in my somewhat twisted imagination, I started wondering what might happen when the ‘bots start undercutting each other on rates.
The result is this “Looney u-Tubes” short (first of many, I hope) which I put together and voiced…with a little help from an actual A.I. “voice talent” found online. The visuals are licensed stock footage elements I assembled, plus one from NASA. It’s a spin on Oscar Wilde’s quote: “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life.” I hope you enjoy it.
